Love in Hualien, Winter 2025 International Youth Volunteer Group

From December 20–24, ten incredible members of the Class of 2028 spent their winter break giving back to the Hualien community. We’re so proud of Olivia Chen, Alicia Tsai, Fifi Liu, Doreen Lin, Laura Pechacek, Judy Chen, Jasper Lin, Anderson Chen, Brian Hsu, and Connor Wang for choosing service over vacation.

At the Down Syndrome Children Employment Counseling Carnival, our students helped set up the venue, welcome and assist guests, and clean up after the event—making sure the evening ran smoothly for everyone involved.

They also returned to serve at the New Dawn Educare Center, helping relocate supplies to the organization’s new residential community center. Along the way, they connected with members of the Down syndrome community and even participated in therapy dog training sessions!

At the Hualien Good Things Market, students got their hands dirty planting and harvesting oranges, sorting donated second-hand goods, and preparing items for distribution to local families.
Through every task, big or small, our Lions represented AAIA with heart, humility, and dedication. Giving their time and energy over winter break, they showed what it truly means to lead through service. We couldn’t be prouder.
