Hosted by Morrison Kaohsiung School, we took a squad of 11 players down south to compete on Saturday, October 25th.
Our morning match saw us face the top-seeded team from the south, Morrison Academy Taichung (MAC). Against the run of play, we fell behind 1–0 but battled back to take a 2–1 lead. MAC equalised with 10 minutes remaining, but our boys dug deep and scored in the final few minutes to secure an impressive 3–2 victory, sending us into the final.
The Final was against the top seed from the North, Taipei European School (TES). In a tough, hard-fought match under the afternoon heat, many of our players pushed through cramp and injury to give it their all. The score remained 0–0 until the last five minutes, when TES took the lead with a cruel deflected goal. Despite our best efforts, fatigue caught up with us, and TES sealed the match 2–0 with a final-minute goal.
While disappointed not to be crowned Junior Varsity Champions for the 2025–26 season, the team can be immensely proud of their 2nd-place finish. Such a result highlights the teams determination, commitment, and heart.
Thank you to Coach Boden and Coach Dawson for your incredible support and guidance—our boys are able to thrive because of you! Most of all, thank to our incredible Lions for always pushing above and beyond! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!
We will continue to work hard, and we will be back for another shot at The Championship next year!
