16 students from AAIA, including Sean Shen, Moses Chen, Veneza Chen, Barron Tsai, John Chang, Aidan Huang, Andrew Song, Leo Chen, Ryan Wu, Justin Hsu, Terrik Chang, Ethan Brown, Ethan Chu, Alicia Tsai, Olivia Chen, and Doreen Lin, took a volunteer trip to Hualien, served at the New Dawn Educare Center.
During their time there, they helped clean the environment and spent meaningful time accompanying adult students with autism. They also assisted in producing Xiaonan leaf hydrosol, which is part of their green therapy program, and helped promote sustainable public welfare products like Xiaonan grapefruit soap.
In addition, they supported local farmers at the Hualien Organic Farm Market by aiding with sales, farming tasks, and produce preparation. They also participated in ecological education, removed invasive plant species, and planted trees at Lao Shan.
They learned about national forestry policies and toured the Hualien Disaster Prevention and Education Center. To conclude the trip, they visited elderly residents in Fengshan Village, offering companionship and care, particularly to those living alone.
The New Dawn Educare Center expressed deep gratitude and has kindly sent us small gift boxes containing soap and aroma spray as a token of appreciation.
We are very pleased with the student’s performance and their willingness to dedicate personal time to contribute to society.
