Cultural Activity: Diwali Celebrations in AAIA

For three days (28, 29 & 30th Oct), the entire AAIA school community celebrated the spirit of Diwali, the Indian festival of lights.

Led by G11 student Ishan Mukhopadhyaya, the message of victory of good over evil touched a chord as students lit diyas/lamps, shared savories, and engaged in artistic activities. It helped students learn about unique Indian customs and how community bonding promotes peace & harmony. The students could understand how the colorful celebrations reverberate around the world during Diwali.

In active collaboration with the Coloring club led by Emirate Chen and the strong support from Fifi, Alicia, Zoe, Emily, Mina, and Erica, AAIA students spent quality time designing Rangolis with colored powders in the school lobby area and painting Rangoli designs to unlock hidden creativity among the students.

The organizing team also set up an elaborate range of Indian snacks counter to educate the students about lip-smacking savories from India. All this was capped off with Masala (Indian spice) Tea, which was offered to all the participants.

Under the guidance of Ms. Jade Lee, Diwali celebrations in AAIA helped students build bonds, unlock their creative talent, and helped them learn an ancient culture in a fun environment. It emphasized the need to promote peace and spread the light of friendship and the spirit of community bonding!
