8th Grade History students analyzed the Great Seal of the United States by investigating US dollar bills. Used since 1782, there are many symbols utilized throughout the design. The bald eagle represents the United States and it holds an olive branch, representing peace, and arrows, representing war. Students used magnifying glasses to get a closer look and worked together to decipher the symbols.
