We are absolutely thrilled and excited to announce that Ms. Karen Chiang, an exceptional flutist, music educator, and a proud AAIA Class of 2019 alumna, is officially joining us as our new music teacher!
Ms. Chiang brings with her an outstanding academic and performance background. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and went on to receive her Master’s degree in Flute Performance from Boston University. During her time in the U.S., she not only played key roles in the Boston University Symphony Orchestra but also served as a teaching assistant, guiding master’s students. Her international teaching and performance experience is truly extensive.
In addition to her solid classical training, Ms. Chiang is a certified Suzuki Method instructor. She deeply believes that every child possesses limitless musical potential.
Her teaching philosophy centers on “patience, empathy, and creativity.”
She is dedicated to creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can build confidence through joy and develop their own unique stage presence.
Throughout her musical journey, Ms. Chiang has also studied under world-renowned flute masters such as Emmanuel Pahud and Julien Beaudiment, and she continues to dedicate herself passionately to the fields of performance and education.
There is nothing more special than seeing our own graduates return to give back to their alma mater! We are confident that Ms. Chiang’s arrival will bring a more diverse international perspective and artistic vitality to AAIA’s music and arts curriculum.
